Shaffer Ridgeway, a resident of Waterloo, has served in many positions, including Soil Conservationist, Black Special Emphasis Program Manager, and District Conservationist. He and his family started a farm called Southern Goods. Southern Goods is a vegetable farm that specializes in southern produce like purple hull peas, greens, okra and sweet potatoes. We like to say we grow food that heals, connects and grows.
